Be Quiet
"He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth."Isaiah 42:3-4
So often we are intent on giving people what they deserve. The "I'll show 'em" attitude we can many times shelter is about making sure we let people know when they treat us wrong, or do something we don't like. It can be as simple as changing our demeanor with a person (or group of people), or flat out being rude or disrespectful.
How can we, instead of choosing to be right or heard, be faithful to our Lord's call on our lives just like Jesus did? Sure, we probably have a good reason to want to "show 'em." But does that reason trump the reason God gave us the calling?

I preached on this last week.
The Jews were expecting a military liberator, like King David. What they got was a Messiah who was completely gentle. And we're no different. We're often more interested in a God who will clear the way for our conquest of the world than a God who will heal us of our sin.
